I agree in that the centenary of WW1 isn't to be "celebrated", but I see it more as an act of rememberance for those both german, British and allies who lost their lives, also limbs and sanity fighting that war. So much for WW1 as the war to end ALL wars!!! I wear a red poppy, not as I believe it glorifies the bloodshed, but as a rememberance for all those who shed blood in that war. It was that and also hearing war experiences of friends who served got me involved as a poppy seller for the Royal British Legion. Just wondering where does the money raised by sale of white poppies go, yes if ALL the money was donated to the RBL or Combat Stress, I wouldn't object to white poppies being sold. It was these men, some of them teenage boys, not children , but not quite fully adult men who fought for our freedom!!! I wonder what the WW1 generation would think if they could see Britain today!!!! http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2594648/War-Horse-author-Michael-Morpurgo-insists-First-World-War-centenary-not-celebrated.html

The Forgotten Soldiers
We remember The Fallen, but don't forget the living, those suffering Combat PTSD, as they have injuries, but just because their injuries aren't always visible doesn't mean they don't exist.
A RANT - GRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!! I hate people who criticise our soldiers, as they joined up , of their own free will, rather than being conscripted. My brother for one, seems to think combat PTSD is not a reall illness, or people can just brush it off. I'd love for him to get his civvy arse out to Afghanistan, and then tell me combat PTSD is not a real illness, as i'm sure he couldn't handle it. Also what about women, who have suffered rape/child sexual abuse as girls, is their PTSD not real. PTSD is NOT an excuse just to claim benefits and not work. Much as I like my brother, I'd like to see what reaction he gets if he was to tell some of my (ex )Army friends, and their army mates combat their PTSD isn't real.
Makes me so angry when people say PTSD isn't real, YES It FUCKING IS!!!!!!!!
Rolling Stones In Exile ????
http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b00sl8bf/Imagine_The_Stones_in_Exile/
At last something worthwhile on the BBC (apart from Top Gear). Exile On Main Street is the Stones at their most bluesy, low down, swaggering, drinking, sleazy best. I've worn out my CD of EOMS (well it's lasted 20 years), the new reissue with the "lost" tracks is out now & also Stones In Exile, is released on 14th June. OPh I'm broke have to drop some hints for my birthday.
Oh yes I get my muisical taste from my Dad 1944-2005 (as I do my love of railway engines, real ale and his politics), he was a Stones fan from 1963. I must thank the Late Great Brian Jones for his formation of the then Rollin' Stones.
I know it's only Rock 'n' Roll, but I like it!!!!!!!!

Bring Out The Charge of........
This song just makes me feel so happy, but not telling why,I'll let you guess......
OH Yes To Brian May, Roger Taylor or John Deacon, in the unlikely event of you reading my blog, would you PLEASE PLEASE consider giving Houston'77, along with many other 70's performances an official release. Yes as I love Queen, I do like to own the bought copies. I don't see why I should be penalised if this "Digital Economy" bill becomes law, for downloading a performance that only appears as a bootleg.
Labels:
feelings Queen,
Houston'77,

Sarah's Law
Says exactly what it says on the tin.
Just found this blog.
Parents you have a right to know if there's a paedophile living in your area. Read the link you'll find it sickening that the authorities took four years to act on information given by Mr Johnson about the risk posed by his ex wife's new partner.

Mother Forced To Sell Home to pay for Cancer Drugs
What is our world coming to, the policies of the Liebour Party (can't call them Labour) as Keir Hardie would be somersaulting in his grave to see them today. Nikki Phelps 37 has been refused the only cancer drug which could give her a longer life, by the NHS on grounds of cost. After Liebour ministers promised more than two years ago to give sufferers of rarer forms of cancer life prolonging drugs. Not only have they gone against the Britiosh people, These people have paid NI contributions whilst they were healthy enough to work to fund the NHS. Makes you SICK, LIEBOUR TRAITORS!!!
